Quirky feature lights are the perfect way to set the scene for outdoor parties and celebrations, and will instantly liven up gardens, patios and balconies. LED, solar powered and battery-operated options mean you can chop and change party lights quickly and easily, without having to deal with plugs and mains power.

Create stunning centrepieces for outdoor dining or drape strings of lights around trees and shrubs to create a magical, whimsical look. Solar lights can be left to charge during the day and will spring into action as the sun goes down.

When you’re decorating your garden ready for a party – or perhaps just for the summer – then once you’ve thought about your furniture, getting your lighting sorted is probably the next thing you’ll be thinking about.

There are few things that are more festive than string lights, and whether you choose to add tiny, twinkly fairy lights to your space, you opt for strings of festoons above your outdoor dining table, or maybe you choose a net light to light up a bush, string lights are an affordable way to light up your garden.

A large number of our garden feature lights have LEDs, which means that they require very little power – which also means that they can run on solar power. These types of lights simply need to be placed in the sun for enough hours each day to charge the battery, in order to provide the light you need throughout the night. Where solar powered feature lights aren’t appropriate, many of our styles are battery powered, and can be recharged with a USB cable. Of course, there are plug-in styles and low voltage, linkable styles too.

Many of the feature lights in our range have automation such as dusk to dawn sensors, and remote controls, so that they are easy to manage.

Finally, with safety and longevity of your feature lights in mind, if there is any chance of a rain shower – as there so frequently is during the Great British Summer – then be certain to choose your feature lights with a safety rating of IP44 or above. In our collection of feature lights, we’ve also included some styles that are suitable for use indoors and have a rating of IP20.
