Festoon lights really do say ‘party’ so they are a must if you are having a special celebration. Available in a range of different lengths, they’re also suitable for adorning balconies and terraces, and are sure to add a sense of fun.

Coloured or plain, these retro style outdoor lights are definitely a firm favourite. Opt for modern LEDs and you can rest assured they won’t use masses of energy and it will be quite some time before a bulb needs to be replaced.

There are few types of lighting that create a festive atmosphere as well as festoons do. Traditionally used in funfair settings, festoons still have a celebratory look and feel to them. While other types of string lights will always be popular, festoons are really high impact, which is why many homes use them to decorate their homes during the Christmas period. Festoons can also look fantastic in the garden and around the home year round though, and we love the look of them when they’re used as ambient light in summer gardens – which is why we stock such a huge range.

Many of our range of festoons are now LED styles, and with smaller amounts of power required, there are several options for powering your festoons. Mains power is always an option, but if you’re lighting up an area where access to electricity is difficult, then solar powered festoons are great – you just need the solar panel to be in the sun for long enough to charge the battery. Where that isn’t possible, battery power is always an option too.

You’ll find a large amount of choice in our range, from the shape and size of the bulbs, the number of bulbs, and the colour of the bulbs. If you prefer to be able to dim your festoons, then that is a possibility too. If you’re hanging your festoon lights outside, then you’ll need to ensure you have the right safety rating – if they are to be completely exposed to the elements, then IP65 rated lights are the most weatherproof – and you can choose between glass and plastic bulbs.
